Homemade Gingerbread Spice Mix
Making this traditional homemade ginger spice mix couldn’t be easier. Simply mix all the ingredients together and you’re set.
You can add this Christmas spice mix to all your baked goods like gingerbread cookies, pancakes muffins and cupcakes. Or add it to you holiday drinks like eggnog or hot chocolate for that extra holiday flavor! The possibilities are endless.
As a bonus: If you store it in a nice container you can make it part of a DIY holiday gift. Find a pretty container or mason jar, decorate the jar a little bit and add your spice mix. A gift made with love that’s truly one of a kind!
Ingredients
3 tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp ground ginger
2 tbsp ground allspice
1 tbsp ground cloves
½ tsp ground nutmeg
½ tsp ground cardamom
Pinch of ground black pepper

This gingerbread spice mixture is what I have found to work for me over the years. If you feel like being adventurous in the kitchen, try adding more or less of certain spices until you have the spice mix exactly how you want it!
Storage Tip:
When you keep this spice mix in a dry and closed container, away from sunlight and excessive heat, the flavors and aromas of the spices will keep for at least a year. Remember to write the date on the container when you make this spice mix so that you can easily keep track of the expiration date.
